liquidspikes Hello, Since the AWX database schema appears pretty much unchanged, has anyone tested an in-place upgrade from AWX 24.6.1 to Ascender? I am tempted as AAP is super crazy expensive.
cigamit The installer has a migration script that was submitted by a user. I know several people that have used it successfully. I just need to get around to changing it so pulling the backup file from a S3 bucket is optional (I want to be able to pull it from local disk). Use this playbook, not the other (I will be dropping that one soon) ctrliq/ascender-installblob/main/playbooks/awx_migrate_ascender.yml and some docs on the role ctrliq/ascender-installtree/main/playbooks/roles/awx_migrate_ascender
klaas I migrated a while back, but I decided to not backup/restore but start fresh, I put everything in my AWX into configuration as code (via redhat-cop/infra.controller_configuration -- now has an ascender version as well -- ctrliq/ascender-collectiontree/main/roles ). That made the switch over fairly easy 🙂
fernandorocagonzalez klaas We did exactly that, we are no longer doing any backups atm I dont see them as something we need
