@cigamit @zendritic
The repo's public now, and the first PR is up:
ctrliq/ascender-kit1. It moves the client out of the main Ascender repo and gets it ready to stand on its own.
To answer @zendritic's questions directly:
PyPI name — ascender-kit, so pip install ascender-kit. The import is ascenderkit (Python won't take a hyphen). I went with that over asckit mostly for searchability — ascender-kit is guessable if you know the product.
CLI command — sorry, this one goes against what you asked for: it's ascender, not awx. The second entry point (akit) is ascender-shell. Keeping awx would have meant a package called ascender-kit installing a command called awx, and it would collide with upstream awxkit for anyone who has both installed, but you can always alias awx=ascender in your shell.
Not published yet. The PR needs to land first, and PyPI Trusted Publishing needs setting up on the ctrliq side (a pending publisher plus a pypi environment on the repo). After that a 25.5.1-style tag publishes it automatically.
Two companion PRs go with it:
Worth merging #237 first.
On the argparse fix you mentioned — that one's in, along with a handful of others I found while testing against a live server. The one worth knowing about: importing an export used to blank every credential password in it, silently. That's fixed, and the round trip is now lossless.
